And contrary to popular belief, a bridesmaid dress does not have to be ugly and uncomfortable. Remember to begin shopping in advance for the dresses so that you will get the dresses to fit properly and have time to change them if needed. If you have less time to plan or you want to save money, you can shop for dresses in a department store. Doing this will limit the size that the bridesmaids in the party can be. The size of the women will also depend on what cut and style of dress you should get for them. It’s your day, but you will want your friends to look good too. Try finding a style that everyone loves and that will flatter their shape.

Remember that there will be extra costs besides the dress. There are the shoes, accessories, hair, makeup, gifts, and possibly travel expenses. Take this into account when budgeting for your bridesmaids.

The best thing you can do is to let the bridesmaids have a choice in the matter. Do not stick them in dresses that they hate. Whether you let them pick the style or the additional accessories, let them be as much a part of the decision as you are. This way, everyone will be happy and smiling big on your wedding day.
