Wedding is a unique experience in ones life. The moment of wedding will be cherished and fulfilled only by the presence of friends and family members. The wedding invitation plays an important role in bringing the guests to the event. It is the invitation which creates the first impression on the guests. The wedding cards are available in the shops in different varieties which may differ in the paper quality, design, color etc. Even though it is quite easy to go and get a ready made one, to make your own wedding invitations is a thrilling experience. Some brides do make invitations for their own marriage which are unique.

Before starting to make your own wedding invitations it should be decided on how much effort you wish to put in for the venture. The time estimate for preparing the invitation should be found and then depending upon the total number of invitations required one will have to start the work well in advance. One should have a clear idea on the available time that can be spent for making invitation. Then raw materials and supplies needed for making the invitation need to be purchased. A bulk wholesale purchase will save money than a retail one. There may be some limitations in the side of the individual which may necessitate substitution by using ready made supplies.

Even if the invitation is not handmade, one can put in ones ideas to bring out the exclusivity. Cost wise, it is cheaper to make your own wedding invitations provided the cost of the supplies used to make your own wedding invitations is not on the higher side. There are different ways of making the wedding invitation attractive and striking. In order to catch the attention of the invitees the invitation should be grand, that is, every detail should be good looking by itself. Different effects like embossing, die-cutting, embossing and hot stamping can be used to make it more pleasing. The designing of the invitation can be done using image processing soft wares also.

Before starting to make your own wedding invitations it is better to understand the styles of invitation. The knowledge on the size of envelops and the size of the paper will also be quite helpful for selecting the same. Then, decide on the printing style preferred. If there are inserts like reception cards, maps, quotes etc they also should be done well.

How To Get Discount Wedding Invitations

November 21st, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations No Comments »

Wedding invitations can make a massive first impression when it comes to informing your guests about the wedding. This is likely to be the first thing your guests see when they find out you are getting married. Your invitations will need to make a good first impression because you won’t get a second chance at that. As well as making a good first impression your invite should be informative and designed in the style of your wedding.

Wedding invitations are no longer narrowed down to just white or ivory cards with dark text. Some people will still choose to go for a traditional style wedding invite but nowadays people are getting a lot more creative and are going for there own custom creative designs. A good way to design the theme of your invite is to base it on the location of your wedding. For example if you’re getting married in Las Vegas then you might want a casino styled Vegas invitation.

Once you have written out your guest list you might want to contact a specialist wedding invitation designer. When selecting a designer an important aspect is to make sure you will not be charged for seeing a proof design of your invite. This way you can change designer if you don’t like the style of the invitations you have had designed already. You will need to tell the designer how many invitations you need and ordering maybe 10-15 extra may be advisable for those people you have forgot and want to invite at the last minute. Another important aspect that people can often forget about is envelopes. It’s no use ordering 200 invitations and then having to buy envelopes that fit on the high street. So ordering envelopes with your wedding invitations can save you time and money.

You may also want to go the full way and order all your wedding stationary from the same supplier. You might need things such as thank you cards, reply cards, menus, place cards, gift registry cards, and seating plans. Ordering them all from the same supplier can save you time, hassle and money.

If you have a wedding coming up soon do you will have many aspects to carefully consider and plan. Here are some helpful hints and tips to help you to choose the most suitable wedding invitations for yourself to mark that special day.

How To Arrange Wedding Stationery

November 20th, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations Comments Off

Before ordering your wedding stationery you will need to agree on how many guests you will be inviting, and the expected number of guests who will attend. You can then determine how many to order, allowing for a few addressing mistakes and unexpected changes to your wedding guest list. Allow a 15-20% margin. Do you need more than one type of wedding invitation, if you are not inviting guests to the whole day.

Wedding stationery needs to be ordered well in advance, and usually take between three and six months. It is a good idea to order a few save the date cards to send to your guests beforehand, so they can mark the date in their diaries.

When choosing your wedding invitations and other stationery, give a thought to your style of wedding. This will give your guests an idea of the dress code. Think about the materials to use in your stationery, and the theme and colour could maybe reflect your theme of bridal wear. When deciding on the wording of your invitations, consider whether you wish the wording to be formal or more comtemporary on your wedding invitations. Consider the style of fonts to use and follow the theme through to your Place Cards, Table Plans, Save the Date Cards, even Thank You Cards.

If you are including any wedding gift lists or directions and maps, consider these also being part of the wedding stationery and having them printed. This is also a good time to include the lists or “do’s and don’ts”. For example - can confetti be thrown, are children to be excluded and if so, why.

A wedding directory will offer a choice of wedding stationery providers, where you can then make a short list and requests samples so you can see first hand the colours and themes offered to you. One last final piece of advice - proof read invitations, and then get them proof read again by someone else before the final printing.

Weddings and stationery play a very important part of your wedding. They set the scene for the wedding and give your guests an idea of the style of wedding. The invitations inform guests where and when the wedding is taking place and without the invitations, getting your guests to the right place at the right time would be more difficult.

Difficulty On Wedding Invitation

November 20th, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations No Comments »

It is true that the price of wedding invitation is just a fraction of other wedding items such as your wedding gown and wedding photography. As a result couples may put less emphasis on their wedding invitations. This is especially true when couples feel the wedding invitations are too expensive. They would rather go for cheaper options even if quality is sacrificed. However, virtually no couple will sacrifice the quality of other wedding items. In Hong Kong, a couple will spend about USD40 for one single wedding photo and they may “buy” fifty of these photos even if it is out of their budget. Such case seldom happens in the field of wedding invitation design.

Besides, some couples maintain that their guests will throw the wedding invitation cards into the rubbish bins anyway, it will be totally a waste to spend so much money on wedding invitations. In this case I believe using email as wedding invitation will be the best solution. However, couples, even if they think their guests will throw the invitation cards away sooner or later, are usually reluctant to adopt this idea of email wedding invitations.

In fact, I believe that these couples are facing a dilemma. On one hand they think that a physical wedding invitation card is virtually useless but on the other hand they may think that an email invitation is somehow impolite. We have to admit that wedding is something strongly connected with etiquette.

Apart from the above, couples may sometimes think that it is not worth spending so much money on the wedding invitations since they can also do the “designs” on their PCs. As a wedding invitation designer, what I observe is that more couples are bringing their computer files to me and asking for quotations in these two years.

It is really good that the couples are trying to involve in the design process. However, one misunderstanding shared by many of these couples is that they think a wedding invitation is just about creating a computer file and have it printed.

Actually, I hold quite a different point of view towards this notion of wedding invitations design. A wedding invitation can be more than a printed material. Although I am a wedding invitation designer myself, I am also an advocate of DIY invitations.

Here DIY refers to the notion of handmade invitations. You may write the contents of the invitation one by one. You may also need to collect different raw materials and put them together to make your invitation. You may even need to learn the Japanese Origami in order to make your own envelope.

If you are ready to spend time to make your own wedding invitation, I will suggest you save a buck and start to design and make your own invitation. You should never sacrifice the quality of any of your wedding items.

There is no doubt that you want to make every item of your wedding prefect. You would like to have the perfect wedding dress, perfect venue and so on. However, one interesting phenomenon I observe is that the perfect standard will become lower when it comes to the wedding invitations.

The Best Wedding Invitations For Your Wedding

November 20th, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations No Comments »

A lot of brides will spend a huge amount of time looking on the internet for different styles of invitations. Although this is a great place to start and you may find some really good bargains you could consider making your own wherein you can personalise and incorporate your other wedding ideas into the theme.

Making your own wedding invitations will not only save you money but it is something that can be done with other members of the family giving them something fun to do and to help them feel involved. They may even have some great wedding ideas of their own which you can include.

When making your own wedding invitations always look around for discounted materials that can be used. Take time to find wholesalers as you could save a huge amount of money buying items such as paper and card from a wholesaler.

You need to think carefully about the design. Try not to make it too complicated and factor in the time you have to make them and the time it will take to potentially make hundreds of invitations. Think about your other wedding ideas and themes and create a card that incorporates as many of these aspects as you can.

If your wedding is based on a silver and white theme then create an invitation that matches these colours. It is very easy to get carried away with an intricate design however you will always need to factor in time and money for any aspect of planning a wedding as your wedding day will be upon you sooner than you think. Therefore do not over elaborate on your wedding invitations if you are planning to make your own unless you are absolutely sure you can complete the job in time and on budget.

If you want to go the whole hog you can even create custom made envelopes to match the invitations. I would recommend using rubber stamps as they can be used over and over again.

The most important thing is to experiment and time what you are doing so you can work out exactly how long it will take and you are happy with the design.

A wedding is the most special day in any womans life. Most women have been thinking of wedding ideas from when they were little. Once a woman has been proposed to the engagement ring is like a key, a key to start unlocking those wedding ideas for real.

One of the first things to consider when planning a marriage is the wedding invitations. Sending wedding invitations not only makes the wedding official representing a public announcement of your intentions and love for your partner, it is worth noting that most guests will keep their wedding invitations as a memento of the wedding day so it is important to get this detail of the wedding right.

Wedding invitations can be spiritual

November 20th, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations No Comments »

Wedding invitations are not a matter to be taken lightly. Considering that this event will fire up the next 50 years it can be hard to make a decision. You may be scratching your head and looking at between a dozen and two hundred choices a day, and the Internet makes it harder with customization. The best thing you can do is get your family and friends in on the selection process, foremost your spouse, and then let them take the reins and force you to make a decision. Wedding invitations are not nearly as important as making sure you don’t incur any unnecessary stress along the way to the wedding. You wouldn’t want a big fat pimple on your nose, from stress, on the wedding day. That would ruin the whole thing for everybody.

Wedding invitations can be spiritual too because you are able to send them and save them. You can do both. Save them as keepsakes, personal treasures, a treat for posterity in your old age. Friends and family will be astonished at the look of a framed wedding invitation 55 years down the road. That’s the point. Make it beautiful. Frame it, save it, store it, and show and tell about it when your grandchildren come along. Many a fireside story began by whipping out the stored-up wedding invitation.

Many people don’t take the selection process seriously, instead opting for the cheapest or easiest to pick. Husbands, especially, are notorious for skimping on the details. It’s up to the responsible spouse to understand the importance of wedding invitations and do everything in their will to ensure that they come out right.

With so many to choose from, how can you ever make up your mind? It’s a fact life that there are going to be tough decisions when planning your wedding that just aren’t open to easy solutions. There are white floral patterns with vellum paper or feisty wedding cake-style invitations on finely-textured paper. There is embossed text and there is lowered text. There are ten thousand typefaces. That is where free samples come in. Most stores that sell wedding invitations offer free samples and accessories that are sent to your house minus the cost of actually getting it there. You will have to pay shipping and handling, but at least you’ll have the chance to get an up close and personal look at your invitation.

Wording On Bridal Shower Invitations

November 19th, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations No Comments »

Whatever you decide to do when it comes to the wording of your invitations just remember that you are the most important one along with your soon to be spouse and if you two are happy with the wording then that is all that matters. Don’t let anyone else’s two cents come into play if you have already made your decision.

Your bridal shower is a very special occasion and you will want all the details to be perfect. Of course you most likely won’t be involved in the planning of your own bridal shower, but if you have some influence you might want to discuss wording ideas for your bridal shower invitations. It would be cool too if your shower invitations could tie in or reflect your wedding invitations as well. A fun way to word shower invitations would be:

John and Amy’s wedding is on the way

let’s help them prepare for the big day

Please join us for a

Bridal Shower

in honor of the happy couple!

Afterwards you would include the names of the bride and groom, date and location of wedding shower, and any places the couple registered at for gifts. A more straightforward type of wedding shower invitation might be worded:

Please join us for

A Bridal Shower

honoring the bride-to-be

Amy Jones

That’s if the shower is just for women and you aren’t planning on including the groom on the invitation. Again, information on the location, time, and date of the wedding shower are also very important to include.

Remember the type of wording you used on your wedding invitation cards because you will want to use the same type of wording on your wedding shower invitations in order to keep everything uniform and appropriate.

Keep in mind that when you are coming up with wording ideas for the invitations there are a lot of resources to help you. First of all the Internet has myriad wedding invitation examples and shower invitation examples to help you decide what to use. Also, if you don’t want to use something that isn’t original then you can hire someone to write something for you or you could give writing the invitation a try yourself. You just might find that it turns out sweeter and more personal than you ever imagined!

Wedding Invitations Of Your Personaity

November 19th, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations No Comments »

Traditional wording for your wedding invitations would be something like this:

Mr. & Mrs. John White Request the honor of your presence To witness the bonding together Of their daughter Evelyn Linda White And Mr. Michael Warren Jessop Son of Mr. And Mrs. Winston Jessop

This would, of course, be followed by the particulars.

A less formal approach might read something like this:

Evelyn Linda White And Michael Warren Jessop Invite you to witness Their vows of love On their wedding day. (And so on…)

There is nothing inherently right or wrong about a formal versus a casual approach to your wedding invitations. That decision simply depends on the scale of the event.

There are situations when it would be appropriate to include the invitation to the wedding reception with the wedding invitation. At other times, it would be more prudent to create a separate invitation for both events.
A fairly new accessory to the wedding and reception invitations is the “reply card.” This is simply a separate card included inside the invitation, with lines to be filled out. Etiquette requires you to provide a stamp on the reply card’s envelope.

The rules are not as important, however, as your intention. If you put a little conscious energy into every phase of your wedding, including your invitations, you will manifest a clear and ringing expression of your love and commitment, and a beautiful memory for a lifetime.

When planning your wedding, leave sufficient time to consider the wedding invitations. The look of them, the wording of them, the intent behind their presentation—all send a message to the recipients and set the tone for the wedding itself.

Wedding Invitation Options

November 19th, 2008 Lisa Posted in Wedding Invitations No Comments »

A formal or traditional wedding requires standard protocol. The wording must be elegant and the stationery of classic quality. In most cases, you need a calligrapher to address the envelopes and not use a printer. You will have to include RSVP, reply cards and other useful information.

Of late, many cards are adding maps to the invitations so their guests can arrive safely and effortlessly at their weddings. Many locations can be printed from Google maps and then enclosed in the wedding invitations for the guests. Many couples will add the wedding program as well. If you are having the wedding from your residence, you can add any places of interest that your visitors may want to visit as well as information on accommodation.

Couples are making use of the internet in their wedding invitations. Many are putting up special websites through which they are able to inform their guests of the wedding. This option will require an ability to give your guest the website address of the page and also compile a list of their email addresses. Prospective guests can confirm their attendance online. This option may not be appropriate for older guests who are not computer savvy. Unless, you have a database of all the email addresses of your guests, compilation may be impossible.

Each wedding is unique. The couple will have to devise their own way of going about their invitations. These tips are the broad guidelines that anyone could follow to achieve a trouble free wedding invitation but many couples have created their own unique designs that worked.

Wedding invitations are changing everyday. Each new day, there is a new design, option or style that a couple will adopt. Depending on the type of wedding you are holding, one option may be more suitable than the other. In this article we examine the avenues available for a couple and why some methods cannot be sufficiently applied to certain types of weddings.

1. One of the best ways to order the best and cheapest invitations for your wedding is to only use the simplest design and then embellish it at home. If they are professionally printed and embossed then that is the main thing. You can add your own envelopes, ribbons and other décor yourself.

2. Ordering invitations off the internet is great because you can find stores all over the world that will ship world wide. Even though it takes longer you might find the perfect invitations in another country and you can then benefit from the exchange rate.

3. If you have ordered your wedding invitations from a local company, go and pick them up yourself you save on the delivery costs. You can also save on these orders by placing them in the envelopes yourself instead of getting the company to do it for you, as they might charge extra for this.

4. Use the basic colors. If you have a specific color scheme then choose just one color for your invitations or better yet, bring in the color with some ribbon, sequins or glitter sprinkled on. Printing in black is the cheapest and always looks elegant.

5. The final way to order cheap invitations for wedding is to down size. You can still say everything that is important in one or two lines. Less words means less costs and you can then go for a smaller size invitation as well to cut costs even more.
