THE LITTLE DETAILS: THE RESTROOMS

May 31st, 2010 admin Posted in Uncategorized 2 Comments »

It’s such a small point, and I admit I couldn’t deal with this on top of all my other wedding plans when I was designing my own wedding! But there were so many things I wish I had had the time or money to do in the restroom! Paying attention to little details in the restroom shows your guests how much you were thinking of every aspect of your wedding, and they will remember your special touches. Here are some ideas:

 1.      Stock pretty baskets—one with mints, one with chocolates, and one with hard candies.

2.      Have a box full of monogrammed matchboxes that guests can take with them.

3.      Have monogrammed linen towels for guests to dry their hands.

4.      Have a  basket full of products like hairspray, tampons, bandaids, clear nail polish, and other items females especially might want.

5.      Place vases full of flowers in the restrooms.

6.      Write a little poem or quote on the mirror.

7.      Have tiny bottles of perfume sample available for women to take home.

8.      Play soothing music.

9.      Set out baskets of sweethearts or other candies with special messages.

10.  Have special scented soaps, or little bars for each guest, individually wrapped.

11.  Light candles.

Even doing one of these special details will make even the most unexpected event memorable for your guests!

How to get Creative with Photography and Videography

October 12th, 2009 admin Posted in Uncategorized 9 Comments »

1. As a surprise for your groom, hire a photographer to take classy but sexy boudoir photographs of you in a 1940s-inspired outfit.

2. The Day After: Travel to a fun location the day after your wedding, in your wedding dress and your groom in his tux, so you have more time and freedom to pose and get great shots. For example—the beach; a mountaintop; the local diner; the subway. Or return to the place where you met.

3. Underwater shots: If you have access to a pool, shots underwater would make wonderfully creative day-after-wedding shots! And so much fun!

4. Shots from far above the dance floor are fabulous. Shots from the dance floor (i.e. lying on the ground looking up at all the dancers) are even more fabulous.

5. Hire a photographer to take photographs of you on your honeymoon.

6. Use a beautiful moment of video to make flipbooks for your close family and friends. Flipclips.com makes them relatively inexpensively!

7. Make use of shadows if it’s a sunny day, and reflections in puddles if it’s raining.

8. Recreate a photographic or videographic moment from your parents’ or grandparents’ wedding, such as getting the same kind of getaway car and kissing in the back window as you drive away.

9. Release dozens of balloons as you exit the church—the photography and videography of that moment will be amazing.

10. Collect video clips of various family members’ weddings, and project them silently onto a wall during your cocktail hour or reception.

Elegant, simple, classy or girlish – there is a bridal dress that will cater to your unique preference. You should first determine the theme of your wedding and choose a suitable dress to match that theme. Color and fit are important elements to consider because your choice should include a suitable color for the occasion (i.e. beach, park) and also customized fitting to match your proportions (bust, waist and hip) correctly. When you’ve got these two details correct, you will feel at ease perusing the wide variety of bride dresses available.

Bridesmaid dresses are generally simpler than bride dresses but by no means less beautiful. They should be equally well chosen to reflect the best of the bridesmaid and also to complement the overall theme of the wedding. Bridesmaids are those helping the bride in preparation for the wedding and they can be a source of wonderful help and inspiration in decision made by the bride. As a bride, you should ensure that your bridesmaid look equally gorgeous because it shows that you have taken the effort to care for them!

Choose well and make your wedding a memorable experience. As you recall your wedding day, your dress will bring back fond memories because you have put your effort in choosing the best for yourself.
